Llanite From Texas

Llanite, discovered in Central Texas's Llano Uplift, gets its name from this unique location despite similar rocks existing elsewhere. The rock's blue quartz crystals, shaped like hexagonal bipyramids, are believed to owe their color to ilmenite inclusions. It's about 1.106 billion years old, weighs 20 lbs., and measures 10x11x6-1/2 inches.
