As seasoned rockhounds, my husband and I have had the privilege of hunting for rocks, gemstones, and fossils throughout Texas and other states. We have collected and worked with the stones and crystals we found, cutting, trimming, and polishing them into unique jewelry and leather designs. One exceptional find was an eleven-inch amethyst geode discovered in West Texas.

Growing up, my mother instilled in me the habit of paying attention to the ground and encouraged me to explore and appreciate the natural world. This instilled in me a lifelong passion for geology, which culminated in my first fossil discovery at age ten in central Texas with my dad.

We have had the opportunity to go on many field trips, either alone or accompanied by a guide, where we discovered a variety of agate types, including red and black plume, pompom agate, moss agate, flower garden, and others. Additionally, we have found quartz and amethyst crystals, chalcedony, and fossils such as echinoids, ammonites, gastropods, bivalves, and trilobites, among others.

On one trip, I found a gemstone, Yellow Labradorite, about the size of my little finger. We met a man at a gem & mineral show who faceted a two-carat stone for my husband’s wedding ring, and he faceted three stones for my wedding ring.

We now share our passion for creating unique, handmade jewelry pieces using natural stones and crystals gathered from our extensive collection from over the years. Our earring designs feature sterling silver or gold-filled ear wires, paired with natural gemstones and crystals. We employ traditional wire wrapping and silversmithing techniques to craft each piece with care and attention to detail.
